Editorial & Belief Policy
On this page
This page lays out the standards behind every guide on Myriapath, in plain language. The short version: we write to be useful and honest, we frame spiritual claims as belief and practice rather than fact, and we tell you exactly how we handle the few links that earn us anything.
How we frame belief
Spiritual and metaphysical claims on Myriapath are presented as tradition, belief, and practice, never as established fact. When a guide says a crystal is "for" self-love or a herb is "for" protection, it means practitioners and folk custom hold it so. It does not mean the effect has been measured or proven.
We frame the belief once, in the sentence itself ("in tarot," "the tradition holds," "many witches reach for"), and then we get on with being helpful. We are not interested in bolting a cold legal caveat onto every line. Honest in-tradition framing is a sign of respect, both for the craft and for you as a reader who can hold belief and healthy skepticism at the same time.
We try to serve both kinds of reader. If you feel that energy and spirits act on the world, you will find your practice taken seriously here. If you find that ritual mostly changes you, by quieting the mind and focusing intention, that reading is honored too. Both are real reasons this work helps.
We write about history with care. Dates, names and sources are real, and we never invent them. We tell the story of how traditions grew, including the parts that are newer than people expect, because that story belongs to the practice too. We never use history to argue against anyone's belief.
What we will not do
We do not promise guaranteed outcomes, overnight money, or magic without action. When we describe how a practice "works," we frame it as setting intention and pairing it with real-world steps, not as a lever on the physical world that is certain to pay out.
We recommend things on genuine merit, and we are glad to name what is not worth your money.
Affiliate disclosure
Some guides on Myriapath include affiliate links. If you buy through one of them, Myriapath may earn a small commission, always at no extra cost to you. The price you pay is the same either way.
We only suggest items we would actually use or give to a friend, and we point you to low-cost or no-cost options first whenever they exist, because powerful practice never needed a price tag. A commission never buys a better write-up. If something is mediocre, we will say so, link or no link.
Posts that contain affiliate links carry a short disclosure right next to the recommendation, so you always know when a link can earn us something. This is in keeping with FTC guidance on disclosing material connections.
Health, money, and the hard lines
Most of what we write is gentle by nature, and we keep the framing warm. A few areas get one clear, kind boundary instead, because they deserve it.
Nothing on Myriapath is medical, mental-health, financial, or legal advice. A spell jar, a crystal, a tarot spread, or a meditation can support how you feel and how you focus. None of it is a diagnosis or a treatment. If something physical or mental is wrong, please see a doctor or a qualified professional too. If money or legal matters are at stake, talk to someone qualified in that field. Spiritual practice can sit alongside that help. It is not a replacement for it.
That is the whole rule, said once and with care: this work supports your intention and your wellbeing, it does not stand in for professional help when you need it.
Cultural respect
Some practices belong to specific living cultures and are closed to outsiders. Where that is the case, we say so and point to open alternatives that do the same work, so you can have the feeling you are after without taking what is not offered.
Corrections
We would rather be accurate than look infallible. If you spot something wrong, we want to fix it. Our standards are meant to be lived up to, not just listed here.
