Privacy Policy
On this page
This is the plain-English version of how Myriapath handles your information. We collect very little, we do not sell it, and we would rather tell you the truth simply than bury it in legal fog. We share this for transparency, and it is not a substitute for legal advice. Because privacy law varies by region and keeps changing, a qualified attorney should review this before you rely on it.

What we collect
Myriapath has no user accounts, no login, and no online store, so there is no profile for you to fill in and nothing for us to store about who you are. The information we do touch is the ordinary kind almost every website handles:
- Usage and analytics data. Pages you visit, roughly how long you stay, the link that sent you here, and general details about your device and browser. We use this in aggregate to learn which guides are useful, not to identify you personally.
- Server logs. Like most sites, our hosting keeps technical logs that can include your IP address, browser type, and the time of a request. These help keep the site running and secure.
- Email, only if you ask us to have it. If you subscribe to our newsletter, we keep the email address you give us, and nothing more than what you provide, so we can send you what you signed up for. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in every email.
We do not ask for sensitive information, and please do not send us any.
Cookies and similar technology
Cookies are small files a site stores in your browser. We use a few categories:
- Essential cookies that make the site work and remember basic preferences. These cannot reasonably be switched off.
- Analytics cookies that help us understand site usage in aggregate, as described above.
- Advertising cookies, when applicable. We do not currently show display ads. When we add them in the future, ad partners may set cookies used to measure and personalize advertising. We will update this policy before that goes live.
You can control or clear cookies in your browser settings, and you can usually opt out of analytics and ad cookies through your browser or the tools described below. Blocking some cookies may affect how parts of the site behave.
Third-party services we use or plan to use
Myriapath is small, so we rely on reputable third parties for a few functions. Some of these are in place now and some are planned for a later phase, and we describe them as "may use" or "when applicable" so this is honest rather than a claim about something not yet running:
- Web analytics to measure site usage. We use Google Analytics 4, which sets analytics cookies (such as
_ga) to distinguish visitors and count visits in aggregate. Google processes this data under its own privacy policy, and you can block these cookies in your browser or with Google's opt-out browser add-on. - Advertising networks such as Mediavine or Raptive, planned for a future phase, if and when we run display ads.
- Affiliate networks, planned for a future phase, when we include affiliate links. We use cloaked redirect links and disclose them. See our Editorial & Belief Policy for how we handle this.
- An email provider such as Kit (ConvertKit), to deliver the newsletter if you subscribe.
Each of these providers handles data under its own privacy terms. When a service is active, it may process the usage data, cookies, or email described above on our behalf.
Affiliate links
Some guides may include affiliate links, which are cloaked redirects that can earn Myriapath a small commission at no extra cost to you. Following one tells the affiliate network that the click came from us. We disclose these links plainly, and the full explanation lives in our Editorial & Belief Policy.
How we use information
We use the limited information we collect to:
- keep the site running, secure, and reasonably fast,
- understand in aggregate which content is helpful so we can write better guides,
- send the newsletter to people who asked for it, and
- support advertising and affiliate relationships if and when those phases begin, as described above.
We do not use your information to make automated decisions that affect you, and we do not build personal profiles.
How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with the service providers described above, only so they can perform their function, and only as needed. We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect the safety, rights, or property of our readers, the public, or Myriapath.
Your rights in the EU and UK (GDPR)
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you have rights over your personal data, including the right to access it, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to how we use it, and to receive a copy in a portable form. Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time, and you can complain to your local data protection authority. To exercise any of these rights, reach us through our contact page.
Your rights in California (CCPA/CPRA)
If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect and how we use it, to request access to or deletion of that information, and to not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. We do not sell or share your personal information in the way those terms are defined under California law. To make a request, reach us through our contact page.
Children
Myriapath is intended for adults and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we will delete it. This is in keeping with the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).
Data retention
We keep information only as long as we have a reason to. Aggregate analytics may be retained for as long as it is useful for understanding trends. Newsletter email addresses are kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to remove them. Server logs are kept for a limited operational period and then rotated out.
Security
We take reasonable, commonsense measures to protect the limited information we hold. No method of transmission or storage over the internet is completely secure, so we cannot promise absolute security, but we work to keep the risk low.
International data transfers
Myriapath and its service providers may process and store information in countries other than your own, including the United States. Where data moves across borders, we rely on our providers' safeguards for handling it lawfully.
Links to other sites
Our guides link to other websites we think are worth your time, including, in the future, affiliate destinations. Once you leave Myriapath, we have no control over how those sites handle your information. Their privacy practices are their own, so it is worth reading their policies.
Changes to this policy
We will update this policy as the site grows, especially when we add advertising, affiliate links, or the newsletter. When we make a meaningful change, we will revise the "last updated" date at the top. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
Contact
If you have a question about this policy or want to exercise any of the rights above, reach us through our contact page and we will do our best to help.
