Practitioners who time workings by the Moon's sign tend to match the work to the element: a water sign for emotional or cleansing work, an earth sign for money and the home. Gardeners following the signs tradition sow on fruitful days, and the gardening by the moon calendar marks them for any month. Moon sign and moon phase
The sign and the phase are two different clocks. The phase follows the Moon's light, a 29.5-day cycle; the sign follows its path through the zodiac, about 27.3 days. A full moon can fall in any sign, which is why astrologers speak of a full moon in Aries or a new moon in Libra. For the phase, see the moon phase calendar, and for timing by planet, the planetary hours calculator.
