Sigil Generator

Write one sentence of intent and watch it become a sigil, step by step.

Make a sigil by hand in four steps

With JavaScript on, type your statement and the steps and the finished glyph appear as you write. Without it, the method works just as well on paper:

  1. Write one short sentence in block capitals: present tense, positive, one intention.
  2. Strike every vowel: A, E, I, O and U.
  3. Strike every repeated letter, keeping the first of each.
  4. Combine the letters that remain into one shape: place them on a circle of the alphabet and join them with one line, or overlap, turn and mirror them until they stop reading as letters.

Worked example. I AM CALM AND CONFIDENT IN INTERVIEWS. Without vowels: M C L M N D C N F D N T N N T R V W S. Without repeats: M C L N D F T R V W S. Those eleven letters become the sigil.

What a sigil is in practice

A sigil is a small symbol you build from your own words, then charge and set aside. The point of turning a sentence into a shape is that you stop reading your wish every time you look at it, so the doubting part of the mind has nothing to argue with. The sigil comes from your own letters, which is why the generator starts from your sentence and not from a library of ready-made symbols.

How the generator follows the letter method

  1. Block capitals, letters only. Numbers and punctuation drop out. Accented letters count as their plain letter.
  2. Strike the vowels. A, E, I, O and U go. Y stays, as most practitioners treat it as a consonant.
  3. Strike the repeats. Each remaining letter is kept once, at its first appearance.
  4. Combine. The letter wheel sets the 26 letters around a single circle, A at the top, and draws one line through your letters in order, with a small circle at the start and a short bar at the end. The letter overlay stacks hand-drawn strokes of each letter, turned and mirrored; press "Another variant" until one feels like a single object.

Redraw your favorite by hand if you like. Many practitioners find the copy in their own hand feels more like theirs.

Charging and releasing your sigil

The glyph is the easy part. Tradition says the working happens when you charge it in a quiet or heightened moment, then let it go: burn it, tear it up, or leave it where you stop noticing it, and turn to something ordinary. The full method, the three ways to charge, and what to do if you keep thinking about it are in the guide to sigil magic. For a mark that guards you or your home, see protection sigils.

A sigil is a symbolic practice, not a guarantee. It works best alongside action in the world, and it is never a stand-in for a doctor, a lawyer or a financial adviser.
